In 1954, Jacques Béchard created Dessin Commercial par correspondance (Commercial Drawing by Correspondence) . His joy for teaching was evident in every lesson which is why we have decided to make his entire course available to the public. Wishing to actively involved his students in the creative process, he even invited them to contribute their own artwork to many of the pages. In addition to his correspondence course, Jacques Béchard also offered in-person instruction, allowing students to benefit from both remote guidance and direct engagement in the classroom. His classes were frequently held outdoors, embracing the spirit of plein air practice . To learn about his approach, click here. We hope you'll enjoy journeying through the pages of his class.
We have divided the class into seven pages of approximately five lessons each. Click on the Lesson number to access the page.
(Unfortunately Lessons 32, 34, and 35 are missing and cannot be located at this time).
